NBRM Annual Award on Best Paper in Macroeconomics

Blagica Petreski has been awarded the Young Researcher Prize of the Year in the field of Macroeconomics by the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia in April 2010. The awarded research paper was “Analysis of the effects of banking system development for the economic growth: The case of Macedonia”.

Despina Tumanoska has been awarded the Young Researcher Prize of the Year in the field of Macroeconomics by the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia in April 2012. The awarded research paper was “Empirical analysis of the Feldstein-Horioka Puzzle in transition economies, with reference to Macedonia”.

ISA Award on Best Paper in Insurance

Blagica Petreski has been awarded the annual award of the Insurance Supervision Agency of Macedonia for the best paper on risks and insurance, for her research paper “Empirical analysis of the risks and resilience to shocks of the Macedonian insurance system”.

The paper is a product of the project earlier supported by the Geneva Association for the Study of Insurance Economics. Details on the research could be found here.

Japanese award for Outstanding Research on Development

Blagica Petreski, within a team lead by Dr. Marjan Petreski and membered by Dr. Nikica Mojsoska Blazevski, both from the University American College Skopje, won the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development – Second prize in the World, by the Global Development Network and the Government of Japan. The awarded proposed project was: “EdPlaCo-MK: A tool for greater gender wage equality in Macedonia“.

UN-MFA Social Innovation Award

Finance Think has been heralded a social innovator in the area of gender equality. The Institute won the First Prize on the open competition of the United Nations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, in the occasion of the celebration of 68 years since the establishment of the world organisation and 20 years of Macedonia’s accession into the UN.

In particular, the idea for establishing a web platform which will help companies and individuals in testing their wage so that to eliminate the gender wage discrimination has been awarded. The innovative solution should lead to eliminating the gender wage inequality at the country level in the medium term.
