Meeting of the Open Balkan working group in Belgrade

Finance Think is part of the regional working group for the Open Balkans Initiative, composed of representatives from Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Libertarijanski Klub -LibeK-.

⏱ This weekend, the working group is holding a meeting in Belgrade to coordinate current and upcoming activities.

Workshop on gender-responsive policies with local stakeholders

The workshop “Gender-responsive creation of local programs and budget” for representatives of the public administration and the civil sector from Prilep and Krushevo is being held in Prilep, February 17, 2023.

The workshop is part of the project “Gender-responsible planning at the local level: The case of Prilep and Krushevo”, supported by Reactor Research in Action and partners through the action “Advancement of gender equality in the EU accession process”. The action is financed by the European Union and co-financed by Sweden.

Policy Dialogue on the Food and Energy Crisis

🗣 Today, together with UNICEF MK, we started the dialogue on policies to assess and address the effects of the energy and food crisis. The competent policy holders from the ministries of finance, economy and labor and social policy participate in the consultative process.

💾 Part of our research on the economic-social effects of covid-19 published during 2020 and 2021 has been selected as influential and contained in the covid-19 research base of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Presentation of findings at the University of Illinois at Chicago

With the presentation of the research “Transmission mechanism from the public finance management to (better) health and educational outcomes in the Western Balkans”, our Blagica Petreski concluded her stay at the University of Illinois Chicago, within the framework of The Fulbright Program supported by the U.S. Embassy North Macedonia.

Finance Think visited People Powered in New York

Our Blagica Petreski is visiting People Powered – The Global Hub for Participatory Democracy from New York, USA.

With Josh Lerner (pictured), we discussed current collaborative #initiatives and toured several completed Brooklyn projects that are working thanks to the participatory budgeting that the hub promotes and facilitates.

An event for promotion of findings and recommendations was held in Prilep

The event for the promotion of the recommendations from the project “Gender-responsive planning at the local level: The case of Prilep and Krushevo” was held in a varying concept, with the conveying of the recommendations through visualizations.

The project is supported by Reactor – Research in Action and their partners through the action “Advancement of gender equality in the EU accession process”. The action is financed by the European Union and co-financed by Sweden.
